The Kuwaiti telecoms operator reported stable revenues of $1.163 billion, with a 20 per cent increase in its active customer base.
Net income rose to 69.9 million Kuwaiti dinars ($251.1 million), which fell short of analysts' expectations. Analysts polled by Reuters had expected net profit to rise to 75.3 million Kuwaiti dinars.
Meanwhile, India's Bharti Airtel has reported a 31.5 per cent decline in net profit in its fourth-quarter results.
The firm, India's top mobile operator, saw net profit fell to 14.01 billion rupees ($314.3 billion) from 20.44 billion rupees last year.
Bharti Airtel last June acquired the African business of Zain for a reported $10.7 billion. The fourth-quarter decline in profit was attributed to costs connected with this acquisition.
