Middle East to host launch of new Nissan Patrol

Long a favourite marque of this region, Nissan’s 2017 Patrol V6 will make its global debut in the Middle East next month.

Equipped with the Nissan Smart Car Application, the MY17 Patrol version of the V6 is the most connected car in its segment and will be available in the UAE from September before being gradually expanded across the region, Nissan said.

The smaller varient of its V8 model, the full range will be available exclusively in the region with prices ranging between US$47,500 and $69,500 in the GCC, with local country prices being revealed by each Nissan distributor, respectively.

“The new Patrol V6 complements the legendary Patrol V8 which is considered one of the most powerful, spacious and popular SUVs in the Middle East,” said Samir Cherfan, the managing director of Nissan Middle East.

“Our Nissan Patrol business has expanded close to four times from [2011 to 2015], and with the introduction of the Patrol V6 we aim to grow by 20 per cent over the next two years.”

The new vehicle is “specifically designed and built for the demands of the region while taking into account increasing consumer appeal for more fuel efficient, practical, full-sized SUVs”, he said.

The new Patrol V6 was tested in the region to meet all types of terrain and temperature conditions here, Nissan said.

On offer exclusively in the Middle East from next month, it will be available in both XE and SE grades for the full seven-variation range.

Building on a heritage that stems back from 1951 when the first Patrol rolled off the production line, the original 60-series Patrol was initially used as a military vehicle due to its all-terrain capability. Over the next 65 years, the evolution of the Patrol saw it become one of the most famous off-road vehicles ever built.
