HSBC's "hidden smiles" campaign aims to give customers an uplift via such offers as complimentary insurance policies, holidays, voucher booklets and air miles.

"We realised that with all the different promotional offers in the market on different products by a variety of banks, customers can feel overwhelmed by all the noise," says Francesca McDonagh, a regional HSBC executive.

"We want to send out a simple message to all our banking customers that cuts through the clutter - the more you grow your relationship with HSBC, the more we invest in you as a customer."

HSBC credit-card customers get an exclusive HSBC Entertainer booklet, while personal loan customers receive a hotel voucher booklet. All customers who transfer their salary to an HSBC account get a welcome bonus of up to 50,000 air miles. Customers opening an HSBC premier account can receive the help of accredited advisers to discuss their wealth management needs.

Al Ansari Exchange, the UAE-based foreign exchange and worldwide money transfer company, has announced the launch of its Egypt Mini Promotion, whereby customers sending money from any of the Al Ansari branches up until March 31, have a chance to win 40 round-trip air tickets from Air Arabia to Egypt and 20 National Bonds cash vouchers worth Dh1,000 (US$272.25) each.

All remittance transactions to Egypt are eligible for the draw as well as National Bonds purchases by Egyptian customers. Cash Express and National Bonds transactions will qualify as double entries, maximising the chances of winning. The draw date for the promotion, which is sponsored by United Bank-Egypt, is set for April 3.
