Mobile-phone users in the UAE faced two hours of disruption today due to a glitch in Etisalat's network.
Users reported problems sending SMS messages from midmorning, although Etisalat says the problem has now been resolved.
One Dubai-based Twitter user wrote that they have "been struggling with it since 10am this morning".
Etisalat later confirmed that "a small number of customers" experienced problems with data services, attributing the problem to the expansion of the network.
"Due to ongoing expansions in Etisalat's network, a small number of customers had experienced unforeseen limitations in some data services for two hours this morning," a spokesperson from Etisalat said.
"Our technical team confirms that all services are now operating as normal," the spokesperson added.
