Motorists across the UAE will pay the same amount at the petrol pumps when they fill up in October. The Fuel Price Committee announced on Monday that prices are being held for a seventh consecutive month, coinciding with the onset and impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The breakdown per litre is as follows: • Super 98: Dh1.91 • Special 95: Dh1.80 • Diesel: Dh2.06 Petrol prices in the UAE were liberalised in August 2015 to allow them to move in line with the market. Global oil prices have recovered somewhat since the lows experienced in April when demand fell dramatically as millions of people around the world worked from home and flights were grounded. However, oil prices fell on Monday as rising coronavirus cases spur concern about demand, with the main crude benchmarks on track for their first monthly falls since April. Brent crude fell 32 cents, or 0.7 per cent, to $41.60 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate was at $39.89 a barrel, down 36 cents or 0.8 per cent.
