Drivers in the UAE will once again pay the same amount at the petrol pumps in January.

Prices have been kept at the same level by the Fuel Price Committee since April.

The period coincided with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

The breakdown per litre is as follows:

• Super 98: Dh1.91

• Special 95: Dh1.80

• Diesel: Dh2.06

Petrol prices in the UAE were liberalised in August 2015 to allow them to move in line with the market.

Global oil prices have rallied over the past month with Brent breaching the $50 mark for the first time since March.

Brent, the international benchmark, under which two-thirds of the world’s oil is traded, was trading at $51.09 a barrel on Monday. West Texas Intermediate settled at $47.87 per barrel.
