Dubai hotel package lets you wear the crown for a weekend

Tourists heading to Dubai for a retail spree can check into the Sheraton Dubai Mall of the Emirates for a priceless Dh70,000 shopping package for two. That may sound like an expensive contradiction, but listen: It’s priceless because of the luxury you are afforded over the two-night weekend stay.

The host is the Sheraton in its Royal Suite, no less, to which you are delivered to and whisked away from in a luxury car. The suite offers 153 square metres, decorated in Arabic splendour. If you find that amount of space hard to picture, most dance studios are 17 metres long and nine metres wide which, coincidentally, is 153 square metres, so if you fancy a bit of dancing while you are there … you are in the perfect space.

The suite offers all the luxuries and amenities one would expect from a 24th floor suite – from views of the Arabian Gulf and the city to a dining room that can easily seat eight. Of course there is a private butler.

The Royal Shopping and Spa package also offers Dh10,000 in shopping credit at Mall of Emirates, so you can feel like the Queen, not carrying cash but still able to walk into any shop and out again with whatever you want.

There are also four hours at the spa for you and your guest with a specially designed therapy. The real shine experience lets you indulge in a detox seaweed leaf bath with a private couples Jacuzzi. It uses hand-picked seaweed from Ireland and promises to leave you detoxed and revitalised. The session also includes a side-by-side 80 minute massage followed by a deluxe facial treatment.

The stay would seem intent on meeting the gastronomic needs of Caesar combined with the indulgent pampering of Cleopatra. High tea in the 24th floor lobby is accompanied with a foot and ankle or hand and arm massage. Dinner is a private four-course affair for two in the Gazebo. Breakfast in bed comes as standard.
