Abu Dhabi Global Market appoints head of registration bureau

Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) has appointed Dhaher Mohammed Bin Dhaher Almheiri as the head of its Registration Bureau.

Mr Almeheiri will be responsible for developing and overseeing the registration process for both financial and non-financial services companies established within ADGM.

He will also oversee the registration of real property and members’ compliance to laws and non-financial services related regulations, ADGM said in a statement this morning.

“Dhaher will be instrumental in delivering a customer focused, efficient, business friendly and seamless registration process, a key component of our core value proposition to our member institutions as we prepare to receive our first license application later this year,” said Ahmed Al Sayegh, chairman of ADGM.

Mr Almheiri spent six years with the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority in various managerial positions and was previously executive director.

Earlier this month it was revealed that ADGM had thrown its plans open for public consultation ahead of its launch.

The draft legislation and consultation documents are published on the ADGM website in the form of 1,000 pages of recommendations, questions and answers.

The public has until February 5 to read the documents and comment on the proposals.
