After weeks of speculation it has emerged that Zayn Malik did indeed quit super boy-band One Direction because of fiancée Perrie Edwards.
In a radio interview with UK station Capital, One Direction band member Liam Payne told hosts Lisa Snowden and David Berry, “Sometimes you have to move on because you’re not enjoying what you’re doing as much as you used to. He wanted to spend time with his family and his missus. That’s cool with us.”
The comment has infuriated fans who are comparing Edwards, a member of pop group Little Mix, to Yoko Ono who is widely blamed for splitting up The Beatles.
Malik quit the band just days after he was accused of cheating on Edwards in Thailand.
