Suggestions that Abba might reform for a one-off concert have caused a frenzy of excitement. We take a look at five of the best band reunions. Take five- Led Zepplin The rock legends reunited for a one-off gig in 2007 in commemoration of Ahmet Ertegun. The concert was a runaway success and there have been rumours of a tour ever since. Reports that replacements for singer Robert Plant were being auditioned by the other members were denied.
Take four- Pink Floyd Almost a quarter of a century after the original line-up split, the psychedelic rockers joined forces for a single performance at 2005's Live Aid concert. An offer of £136 million (Dh748m) to take the band on tour was turned down shortly after. Take three- Spice Girls The "girl power" originators the Spice Girls reunited for a series of worldwide gigs back in late 2007/early 2008. With one of their London dates selling out in approximately 38 seconds, the girls showed their bubblegum-pop was as popular as ever.
Take two- Blur The Britpop kings kicked up a frenzy when they announced a one-off gig in London's Hyde Park in June 2009. Tickets sold out within minutes, prompting the band to play a second Hyde Park gig as well as a series of festival shows. Take one- Take That The British boy band have set the bar pretty high with one of the most successful reunions of recent years. Their last two albums, Beautiful World and The Circus, have sold roughly 7.5 million copies between them worldwide.
