U2 tribute band The Joshua Tree to perform free Dubai gig

The music of Ireland’s biggest band will be brought to life — at the UAE’s biggest Irish pub chain.

That’s right, U2 tribute act The Joshua Tree will be onstage at McGettigan’s JLT on Thursday, April 6 — and it’s free.

Named after U2's best-regarded album, The Joshua Tree are fronted by Bono tribute veteran Derek Power, while the guitarist Mick Kearns promises to "replicate The Edge's sound by using the equipment that The Edge actually uses". Squeal.

Bassist Brian Vaughan meanwhile proudly touts his recreation of Adam Clayton’s sound with his Fender Jazz Bass Guitars and Ashdown Amp.

The venue promises to get the party started with its "That Thirst-day Feeling Happy House from 4pm to 9pm, while the blurb promises all the hits including Beautiful Day, With or Without You, Where the Streets Have No Name — expect to hear them chanted back by hundreds of faithful fans gathered for the occasion.
