After years of reports of dwindling concert ticket sales, 2011 proved to be a bumper year for the live music business. According to trade magazine <i>Billboard</i> , this year has been an extremely healthy year for live tours, with U2's 360 Degrees World tour setting a new record for the highest-grossing and most-attended tour of all time. The Irish giants managed the feat by selling out each of their 44 stadium shows, playing to nearly three million people and grossing more than $293 million. They were followed by the American rockers Bon Jovi, who also sold out each of their 68 shows, which grossed more than $192 million.
