Frills and Florals

For this year’s resort season, local designer/S*uce co-founder Zayan Ghandour has channelled the spirit of Peggy Guggenheim. Expect a primarily monochrome palette, sprinkled with hues of heather grey, periwinkle and tangerine. Sculptural silhouettes are mixed with feminine shapes, ruffles, shoulder cut-outs, lace and embroidered flowers in quintessential Zayan the Label style.

Treat your teeth

Celeb dentist Doctor Apa’s range of beauty products aims to push women to be as diligent with their tooth-care practices as they are with their cosmetic beauty rituals. Apa Beauty has just launched at Bloomingdale’s and Harvey Nichols Dubai – the lip scrub, lip shine and tooth glosses are handbag essentials, and the toothpastes, sonic toothbrushes and whitening kit are equally worthy investments.

A fine line

Target your wrinkles during the day and the night with La Prairie’s latest skincare product, the Line Interception Power Duo, which the brand claims gives visible results after just two weeks of use. The sleek, reflective bottle contains two different creams – one for use during the day and one for night, both formulated with the brand’s “Cellular Complex”, which helps to rejuvenate the skin.

Seeing hearts

Eyewear from the newly launched Return to Tiffany Love collection is great for nailing the nerdy-chic look. Dual-tone black and Tiffany blue glasses are adorned with a trio of the brand’s iconic silver heart charms, which are subtly placed on the arms of the frames. Contemporary culture

We have our share of Arabic-engraved jewellery in this region, but Cairo-based designer Jude Benhalim, now at O’de Rose in Dubai, doesn’t do typical. She has made her name with signature bullet icons, acrylic stones and sterling-silver- and gold-plated geometrical shapes emblazoned with Arabic verses. She recently collaborated with Unicef’s #endviolence campaign in Egypt.
