Ahead of the debut of the final episode of the first season of motoring show The Grand Tour, which was filmed in Dubai in December, the Burj Khalifa has been lit up with images from the series. A 91-second video uploaded to the show's YouTube page on Wednesday night to promote the finale shows the landmark, with video images from the show projected onto it, while the song Come With Me Now by the band Kongos plays. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, formerly the hosts of BBC motoring entertainment show Top Gear, toured the world filming episodes for the 13-episode first season of the new Amazon Prime show, with stops in California, Lapland and Nashville, among others. Their giant mobile studio tent was set up at the base of the Burj Khalifa during their visit to Dubai. In addition, Hammond was spotted filming a stunt in Downtown Dubai, during which he drove what appeared to be a tank over a roundabout. A short trailer for the Dubai episode was also released, showing Clarkson joking with the Dubai audience that because they are in Dubai, he, May and Hammond are the poorest people in the studio, and that the water in the fountain outside is Perrier water. It then shows some clips from a section featuring May in an off-road event at Muddy Bottom in the UK’s New Forest. The final episode of The Grand Tour will be available to watch on Amazon Prime from February 3. artslife@thenational.ae
