Now we see him, now we don't. Accompanied by his wife, Seagal was spotted in the new year at Al Raha Beach Theatre admiring (although probably not understanding) The Million's Poet qualifiers, as they read their latest prose in front of a judging panel in the hope of appearing in the television contest's fifth season. On January 9 Paul Maloney tweeted a f himself and a stern-looking Seagal in front of an Abu Dhabi branch of Spectrum Digital Printing Press. However if that pic got you wondering that our pony-tailed action hero must be doing it rough to be shopping for his own stationery, check out this January 5 posted by Antara Hotels, showing Seagal and Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort (owned by Antara Hotels) manager Wael Soueid in front of black chopper that was set to take Seagal on his next UAE journey. After hours of research into why exactly Seagal was in the UAE, it transpired that he was an official guest of the Late Sheikh Zayed Camel Races Grand Prix Festival; a prestigious camel race which ran from January 1-5 at the Al Wathba Camel Race Track. According to race organisers, Seagal left immediately after the festival. Seagal's infatuation with the UAE also extends back to last year when he reportedly visited the country for the Abu Dhabi's Formula One motor race. He was also spotted in November outside Dubai's Cavalli nightclub and Abu Dhabi's Cipriani Yas Island restaurant. Seagal's appreciation of the UAE shouldn't be viewed as too odd however. After all the country is one of the few territories that somehow manages to show his straight-to-video releases on the cinema screen.
