United States diplomat Madeleine Albright took time out from her Culture Summit duties to tour a continuing Guggenheim Abu Dhabi art exhibition at this week.
The politician, who was the first woman to become the US Secretary of State in 1997, was given a tour of the 25-strong artwork exhibition The Creative Act by Saif Saeed Ghobash, the director general of the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and Maisa Al Qassimi, the programmes manager at the museum.
Albright was earlier in the week named a one of nine people to be awarded a culture diplomat award at the inaugural Culture Summit, which has seen more than 300 world leaders from the government, arts, media, technology and policy converge on Abu Dhabi to discuss the role of culture in modern times.
The exhibit Albright visited during her time in the capital is scheduled to run until July 29. It is the second major exhibition of works from the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi collection. The works have been selected from Guggenheim Abu Dhabi’s permanent collection.
The programme is divided into three subcategories — performance, process and presence.
According to Valerie Hillings, the curator and manager of curatorial affairs for the Abu Dhabi Project of Solomon R Guggenheim Foundation, the exhibition shines a light on movement and action that brings the human element and the artists to fore. The Creative Act: Performance. Process. Presence is behind held at Manarat Al Saadiyat.

Electoral College Victory
Trump has so far secured 295 Electoral College votes, according to the Associated Press, exceeding the 270 needed to win. Only Nevada and Arizona remain to be called, and both swing states are leaning Republican. Trump swept all five remaining swing states, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, sealing his path to victory and giving him a strong mandate.

The count is ongoing, but Trump currently leads with nearly 51 per cent of the popular vote to Harris’s 47.6 per cent. Trump has over 72.2 million votes, while Harris trails with approximately 67.4 million.
