Scott Disick is set to make his first appearance in Dubai on January 13. The star of reality-television show Keeping Up With The Kardashians will be in town to open Sugar Factory, an American brasserie and confectionery store in Dubai Festival City.
Disick, who has three children with former girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian, will be in the city at the same time as Kim Kardashian, Kourtney's sister, who will be in town to host a make-up masterclass with Mario Dedivanovic, also on January 13, at Music Hall on Dubai's Palm Jumeirah.
Both events were postponed from October 14 last year, following the robbery in Paris on October 3 in which Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint of jewellery worth $8.5million.
“We are very excited about his visit,” says Stanford D’souza, manager of Sugar Factor in Dubai Festival City. “It’s been long awaited since it was cancelled last time.”
The Sugar Factory is a heavily celebrity-endorsed brand that has branches in Miami, Chicago, Orlando, New York, Las Vegas and, in the region, Bahrain. It is best known for its “couture pops”, which are sparkling designer lollies personalised by stars including Eva Longoria, Britney Spears, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner and the Kardashians.
“We’re very happy to have Scott in Dubai for our opening because he is part of the Kardashian family,” says D’souza. “And they are the ones who endorse the Sugar Factory brand in the US.”
Fans of 33-year-old Disick are invited to come along to the grand opening to catch a glimpse of him. Fifteen lucky individuals – plus a companion of their choice – will get the chance of a personal meet-and-greet with Disick on the day.
Details of how to qualify for this will be posted on SugarFactoryUAE’s social media accounts soon, and winners will then be contacted.
It is not known whether Kardashian and Disick have any other plans while they are in the UAE.
“I’m afraid I don’t know how long Scott will be in town for,” said D’souza. “And I really can’t say what his plans are.”
