Ranbir Kapoor is tipped to star in the sequel to Sooraj Barjatya's classic family drama Hum Aapke Hain Koun?, which was released in 1994. Mumbai daily Mid-Day reported that the filmmaker has already written the script and is currently finalising the cast, which will be led by Kapoor.
“The film ended with Prem and Nisha getting married and the sequel will pick up from there,” a source said, referring to the original film, in which the lead characters were portrayed by Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit. “Barjatya will start working on the project soon. Contrary to rumours, Salman will not be seen in the lead role, but Ranbir. Barjatya will start the pre-production work only after locking the star cast.” – The National staff
