Tongues in Dubai continue to wag about the, seemingly undercover, visit of actress Portia de Rossi and US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres.
While we know that the pair dined at The Act in Dubai’s Shangri-La hotel on Sunday evening, sources are remaining tight-lipped about their itinerary for the coming week.
Forty-two-year-old Australian actress de Rossi, best known for her role as lawyer Nelle Porter in the television series Ally McBeal, who just became a cast regular on Scandal, has not been active on social media in recent days.
Nevertheless, her fans posted a selection of snaps of her and DeGeneres on Instagram entitled ‘Moments from Dubai so far’ with numerous hashtags such as #fun, #party, #laughter, #happy and #moments.
More than 300 fans clicked ‘like’ on the collage, with some asking about the length of the stay.
Rumours have swirled that de Rossi and DeGeneres may next head to the capital for a séjour. DeGeneres famously gifted an audience member an all-expenses-paid trip to Abu Dhabi on her show a couple of months ago - a holiday that included stays at Jumeirah’s Etihad Towers hotel and Emirates Palace.
When approached, Jumeirah’s Etihad Towers could neither confirm nor deny whether the famous pair would be checking in. Adding that, if they were on a private holiday, the news would not be made public.
Similarly, the communications team at Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi, were unable to comment on any upcoming vacation.
