Discovery Gardens is the place to be these days. Brokers at Better Homes reported that more than 300 people showed up to their open house last weekend, and now Sherwoods is reporting that the low prices at Discovery Gardens -- like the positively reasonable 40K studio rentals in the chart above -- are making it more popular than previous hotspots like the Marina and the Greens. Here's how Sherwoods company put it in today's April newsletter: "In the past months we have seen the handover of properties in a number of developments as well as many expats leaving Dubai; bringing an over-supply of apartments and villas to the market. Landlords realise that in order to find and keep a tenant they must offer the most competitive prices. The financial crisis has brought about the demand for cheap rentals and we are seeing more and more people moving to the most affordable centrally located areas such as Discovery Gardens. The appeal of previously popular areas such as the Marina and the Greens is diminishing as the prices are simply not as attractive."
