No surgery for Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan, who was injured in a minor accident on set in Mumbai last week, won't undergo surgery but will need physiotherapy, his doctor says. On January 23, a heavy door fell on the actor while he was filming Farah Khan's Happy New Year. He was taken to hospital for treatment and discharged two hours later, after which he went back to work. "We examined his injuries and we concluded that no surgery was required," his doctor, Ali Irani, told India Today. "We will allow the bruises to heal naturally, along with physiotherapy, which he will have to undergo at least twice a day." – The National staff

Mötley Crüe announce retirement tour

Mötley Crüe announced their retirement on Tuesday, unveiling plans for one last tour. The Los Angeles-based rockers, together for more than three decades, will play 72 dates in North America starting in July, before continuing the appropriately named Final Tour internationally next year. The four-piece band's lead singer Vince Neil did not rule out solo plans. "I'll miss playing with the guys, but I won't quit playing rock and roll. I feel there are a lot of great opportunities and exciting projects after Mötley." – AFP

Lorde complains about media attention

The New Zealand pop sensation Lorde complained about the "frightening" price of fame on Wednesday after a media pack jostled her when she returned home following her Grammy success. The 17-year-old, who earlier this week won Grammys for Song of the Year and Best Solo Pop Performance for her chart-topping Royals, said she was saddened at the reception she received after touching down at Auckland airport. "NZ media almost pushed over myself and my family at the airport this morning in order to get their shots. Bit of a sad welcome if I'm honest," she said in a series of tweets which were later deleted. "I know that success comes with a price tag. It just sucks when you see that in your tiny home country where you previously felt safe." – AFP
