Earlier today, I attended a press conference announcing the completion of the <b>Palace Towers</b> in <b>Dubai Silicon Oasis</b> . Sitting in the vacant lobby with a small group of reporters, I was struck by something. <b>Tameer Holding</b> were announcing that they had done what they were supposed to, i.e., deliver a property on time. This is in stark contrast to the kinds of press conferences I was being invited to last year. Just about every week during the early summer, there was a high-budget gala for a new building. Each one seemed bigger than the last, with a better view and more amenities. Now, developers are in delivery mode and are trying to prove it to their customers. Tameer, for instance, is facing some unrest from buyers at its <b>Tameer Towers</b> project on Reem Island. The company has responded by offering them discounts of about 30 per cent to make it easier (or simply more attractive) to continue making their payments. Waiting with me to go in the elevator to view some of the offices and apartments in the building was <b>Mazen Abualhaija</b> , the development manager of Tameer.
