New Hyde Park-Image Nation reality series on regional documentary makers

A group of documentary filmmakers from the Middle East, India and Singapore will soon be coming together for a new television series in which teams will compete to have their winning film screened at the United Nations.

Chance of a Lifetime, which is also being supported by Variety magazine and Hyde Park-Image Nation, the financing partnership between Image Nation Abu Dhabi and Hyde Park Entertainment, will be presented by American-Indian film producer Ashok Amritraj.

Each week, Amritraj will give the teams various production tasks that they must accomplish to complete their final documentaries, which must reflect the UN’s Millennium Development Goals, with stories that highlight issues to its Every Woman, Every Child initiative.

“Bringing the Middle East, India and Asia to a global audience has always been a passion of mine, and I’m thrilled to provide this platform for filmmakers of such diverse cultures to have a truly collaborative cinematic experience,” said Amritraj, who is the chairman of Hyde Park Entertainment. “The United Nations and Variety have been amazing filming partners on this project.”

Aside from being screened at the UN, the winning team’s documentary will receive a special recognition from Variety at next year’s Cannes Film Festival.
