Tickets to Michael Buble’s twin dates at the Dubai International Stadium on March 12 and 13 were back on sale again Thursday after high demand crashed the Time Out Tickets website for hours on Wednesday.
The site began experiencing trouble when tickets went on sale at 10am, with management halting sales due to technical issues an hour later.
While the site remained down throughout Wednesday, by Thursday morning it was working smoothly.
Amy Wilkinson-Lough, managing director of the show’s promoter Louder Entertainment, said the situation was out of their control.
“We knew that the people of the Middle East and beyond would go nuts for Bublè and whilst we are thrilled to be bringing him over to see all his adoring fans, the unprecedented surge has meant that the Time Out Tickets website hasn’t been able to handle the volume of visitors,” she said.
Time Out Tickets tweeted their apologies for the disruption on Wednesday: “Apologies for the inconvenience that has been caused today. Your patience is appreciated.”
The company reassured those people who purchased tickets before the crash that they would be valid.
Tickets to Bublé’s show are divided into five price categories: the Upper Grandstand (Dh295), the Lower Grandstand (Dh395), Golden Circle (Dh595), VIP Grandstand (Dh1000). Super fans can shell out Dh2200 for fanpit seats.
