Flash Entertainment and the Yas Marina Circuit yesterday announced a scheme dubbed Yasalam Y1 Access that offers discounts and free tickets, and that ties access to the nightly concert series with Abu Dhabi Grand Prix attendance.
Formula One ticket holders will receive a 20 per cent discount on all Flash events from September 1 to December 31 as part of the scheme, which also requires racegoers to visit the Yas Marina Circuit during each of the three race days to collect their wristbands for each of the three after-race concerts.
Previously, race and concert tickets for all three days of the event were included in a package that was available in advance of the F1 weekend.
As an additional measure, dubbed the "2 Friends Friday Deal", organisers will give two free tickets to Friday night's concert to the first 15,000 UAE-based F1 ticket holders. Moreover, each day of the race, 2,000 early race arrivals will receive upgrades to the Golden Circle.
"Our goal has always been to attract big race attendance across the three days and enhance the appeal of motorsport throughout the year," says Nick McElwee, the Yas Marina Circuit sales and marketing director. "Once more it demonstrates Abu Dhabi's collective commitment to providing F1 fans with the very highest quality on and off track entertainment."
Mike Fairburn, the Flash director of marketing and planning, says the 20 per cent discount extends to events including the Yas Island Show Weekends, the Skybar late-night after-race parties at the du Forum and the Mubadala World Tennis Championship.
The benefits also apply to those who purchased their race tickets before the announcement.
"Yasalam already stands out as one of the largest coordinated programmes of live entertaining from any F1 host city," Fairburn says. "Y1 Access will add to the race weekend's reputation as a must-see occasion for people across the region."
The organisers say the Yasalam concert line-up, to take place in venues including the Corniche, will be announced in September.
