Last chance to see the UAE National Day exhibition in DIFC

UAE National Day exhibition at Rira Gallery

The late Sheikh Zayed's portrait formed from calligraphy, the innovative use of Islamic patterns on mirrors and a woven UAE flag from golden thread are just a few of the inspiring works on display in Rira Gallery in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) until the end of next week.

Don't miss the chance to check out the group exhibition, which includes work by Noor Al Suwaidi, an established fine artists, Sheikha Wafa bint Hasher, the owner of FN Designs and an accomplished mixed media artist and Fatma Al Mazrouie, who makes stunning collage works informed by her national heritage.

"This is the first time we have worked with Emirati aritsts," explains Anna Vladi, the creative director at the gallery. "We feel like they are the ones who carry the culture forward to the next generation."

As well as paintings and photography, the show also includes installation, including Dana Al Mazrouei's canvas necklace hung against the wall to make a shadow and two abayas by Najat Al Redha, the founder of Labeaute Fashion.

"We are really pleased with the show, there are so many beautiful works here and so many interesting works," says Vladi. "We really want to generate as much interest as possible."

All works are for sale by silent auction and all proceeds will go to Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre for children with second needs. The gallery has also held a series of workshops for the children in the gallery.
