Kim Kardashian arrived in Dubai on Thursday for her hectic Formula One weekend. The reality-TV star is expected to attend today's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix before hosting a closing-night F1 after-party tonight, a VIP Room pop-up bash at the Radisson Blu Yas Island.
She posted several messages and photos on Twitter announcing her arrival in the UAE, including a photo taken on a yacht with the Fast and the Furious star Michelle Rodriguez and other members of her entourage, including make-up artist Joyce Bonelli and producer Carla DiBello. She also posted a short video on Instagram of herself and her friends walking through Atlantis The Palm and out onto a balcony overlooking the Palm Jumeirah.
Not everything went according to plan for the socialite in the run-up to her visit, however. She was scheduled to stop off in India on the way from Australia to the UAE for an appearance on the Big Brother-style reality TV show Bigg Boss, but had to abandon the plan. On Instagram, she said: "There was a short window to coordinate all of the elements necessary to make it happen. Unfortunately, time ran out so the trip has been cancelled." However, reports in India suggested that visa issues were to blame.
Tomorrow, Kardashian will launch her latest fragrance Fleur Fatale at the new Parfum Monde store on Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road - one of the largest perfume showrooms in the world - at 7pm, before hosting a special dinner event at Toko Restaurant in the city at 9pm.
