Halle Berry expecting baby
Halle Berry is expecting her second child at the age of 46 with her fiance, the French actor Olivier Martinez. The celebrity news website TMZ reported that she is three months pregnant with a baby boy. Martinez, who is 47, confirmed the couple's wedding plans last March. The couple met each other in 2010 on the set of the film Dark Tide. Berry has been married twice before and has a 5-year-old daughter, Nahla, with the Canadian model Gabriel Aubry. - AFP
Mars and Bieber headline Billboard awards
Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Miguel are among the performers at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 19. The four are finalists for the milestone award, a new honour presented to an act that has achieved a landmark on the Billboard charts in the past year. Other nominees include The Band Perry and Pitbull. Prince will receive the icon award at the show. Mars performs on Friday at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, while Bieber will take on the The Sevens Stadium on May 4. - AP
Beyoncé and Jay-Z visit Old Havana
Beyoncé and Jay-Z created a stir on Thursday as they toured the streets of Old Havana, with hundreds of Cubans turning out to catch a glimpse of the couple. The pair — who are celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary — visited historical landmarks in the heart of Old Havana. They snapped pictures and spoke with local residents. After visiting the cathedral, the couple had lunch in a nearby restaurant. Beyoncé then attended a children's theatre performance on Thursday night. - AFP
Craig and Weisz to share Broadway stage
The real-life husband and wife Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz are to play a stage couple in a Broadway production this fall of Harold Pinter's Betrayal, to be directed by Mike Nichols. Weisz will make her Broadway debut in the play, which charts an extramarital affair in reverse. Craig last appeared on Broadway in 2009 in A Steady Rain, where he received positive reviews opposite Hugh Jackman. - AP
Oscar-winning author Jhabvala dies
The Oscar-winning screenwriter and award-winning novelist Ruth Prawer Jhabvala died on Wednesday after a long illness. She was 85. Jhabvala wrote 22 films over four decades. She won two Academy Awards for her adaptations of the E M Forster novels Howards End and A Room With a View. Jhabvala was also recognised for her fiction, receiving Britain's highest literary honour for her 1975 novel, Heat and Dust. - AP
