Usher and Katy Perry are descending on Dubai in December. Both superstars are set to perform as part of the closing ceremony of the World Parachuting Championships on December 8 at Meydan Race Course.
Their performances will cap off 11 days of thrilling aerial action at the championships, which will also close with an awards ceremony and a victory parade.
Although Usher has already cemented himself as a UAE favorite with a sold out show last year, Perry is making her Middle East debut.
Known for a stage show heavy on energy and provocative fashion, the big-voiced California Gurls singer is set to perform hits from her second album Teenage Dream including Firework and Last Friday Night. “I can’t wait to perform my first ever show for all my Middle East fans in Dubai,” Perry said in a statement released by the promoters Done Events.
With more than 65 million album sold, Usher - responsible for hits including Yeah! and My Boo - continues to lead as a performer. He is also responsible for kickstarting Justin Bieber’s career by co-signing him to his record label.
