Karisma Kapoor looking forward to Heroine

The actress Karisma Kapoor says she's looking forward to the release of her younger sister Kareena's new film Heroine, directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. "I feel Heroine will see Kareena's best performance," she said. "The promos of the film are looking very good and it features a wonderful song. I'm sure I'm not the only person looking forward to watching it." Scheduled to be released on September 21, Heroine chronicles the ups and downs in the life of a Bollywood actress. The cast includes Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda. Asked of the possibility of the sisters appearing together on the big screen, Kapoor said: "We both have not yet come across the right script for that kind of project. If we get a nice script where both of us have a good role to play, then we'll do it. Let's see who comes up first with that script." - IANS

Malhotra couple collaborate for next film

The filmmaker Karan Malhotra, who made his Bollywood debut this year with the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Agneepath, says his wife Ekta Malhotra might don the director's hat, too, as soon as she finishes writing the screenplay for his next film. "She has plans to be a director. After my next film is done, she might go and direct her own," said Malhotra. Ekta had earlier worked as an assistant director to Yash Chopra in Veer-Zaara (2004) and with Siddharth Anand in Salaam Namaste (2005). The couple met on the set of the 2006 film Jaan-E-Maan and got married in 2009. Asked about his forthcoming film, Malhotra said: "All I can say is this will not be a remake. It's an original film and a script close to my heart. It's about married life and what couples go through. I will try my best to justify Ekta's vision." – IANS

The actor Sanjay Dutt is rumoured to be in the running. Produced by Amit Mehra, the Zanjeer remake also stars Ram Charan Teja and Priyanka Chopra, who will play the roles of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan from the original film, which was directed by Prakash Mehra.– IANS

Bipasha Basu in talks for No Entry Mein Entry

The director Anees Bazmee says he is eyeing the actress Bipasha Basu to join the ensemble cast of No Entry Mein Entry, the sequel to his 2005 hit comedy No Entry. "We are considering Bipasha for a prominent role in the film, but nothing has been finalised yet," said Bazmee. "We're looking for the right role for her." Bazmee said the film will feature nine actresses, all of whom have already been cast. "If Bipasha comes on board, there will be a total of 10 leading ladies. In the coming weeks, we'll be making the announcement on the entire cast and whether Bipasha is in. As far as the leading men are concerned, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan are confirmed." The 2005 film featured the same three male leads, as well as the actresses Esha Deol, Lara Dutta and Celina Jaitley. – IANS
