Janet Jackson reveals she's married

Janet Jackson revealed on Monday she has been married since last year to the fashion tycoon Wissam Al Mana. This is Jackson’s second secret marriage: she secretly wed Rene Elizondo Jr in 1991; they separated in 1999. In a joint statement, Jackson and Al Mana said their wedding was a “quiet, private and beautiful ceremony”. – AP

Lohan guest starring on Sheen sitcom

Lindsay Lohan will be playing herself, but as a therapy patient, in an episode of the sitcom Anger Management. Lohan will develop a romantic relationship with the therapist character, played by the series’ star Charlie Sheen. The episode is set to be broadcast in April. Sheen and Lohan have recently worked together in Scary Movie 5, set to debut the same month. – AP

Iran slams Argo’s Oscar win

Iran on Monday criticised Hollywood for awarding its top honour to Argo. “This anti-Iran movie lacks artistic value,” the culture and Islamic guidance minister Mohammad Hosseini told the official IRNA news agency. “It was awarded through a massive financing and advertisement campaign … so that it attracts more attention worldwide.” Iran’s state television said the US first lady Michelle Obama presenting the award “increases speculation that awarding this movie was politically motivated”. – AFP

Nine Inch Nails return

After four years, Nine Inch Nails are planning to hit the road again for a world tour. The rock band’s founder Trent Reznor said they’re “reinventing from scratch” featuring new members:  the bass player Eric Avery, formerly of Jane’s Addiction, the King Crimson guitarist Adrian Belew and Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv would join him in the revamped venture, along with previous collaborators Alessandro Cortini and Ilan Rubin. He said the shows will begin this summer, followed by worldwide dates in 2014. – Reuters

Samberg and Newsom engaged
Andy Samberg and Joanna Newsom are engaged to be married. The comedy actor and the musician have kept a low public profile since they began dating five years ago. Newsom, 31, was spotted on Saturday with a diamond ring at the Film Independent Spirit Awards. Samberg, 34, rose to prominence in Saturday Night Live. – Reuters

Morrissey says no to Kimmel

The British singer and animal rights activist Morrissey says he cancelled his appearance yesterday on Jimmy Kimmel Live because the cast of TV’s Duck Dynasty will be on the talk show. Morrissey said he can’t perform on a show with what he called people who “amount to animal serial killers”. Duck Dynasty follows a Louisiana family who sell duck calls and decoys. – AP
