Janet Jackson Dubai show ‘100 per cent’ confirmed despite European tour cancellation

Janet Jackson’s upcoming concert at the Dubai World Cup will go ahead, say organisers, despite the singer’s cancellation of her entire European tour.

The 49 year old pop queen was set to hit the road in the UK on March 30 — four days after her scheduled UAE show, which will close the annual horse racing event at Meydan on March 26.

Despite the sudden cancellation of all forthcoming European dates, the Dubai concert will still go ahead, according to Dubai Racing Club.

Media representatives from the club said there was “100 per cent” commitment from Jackson that the show will go on, with a full statement expected to follow from the singer’s team shortly.

The Unbreakable Tour has been struck by numerous cancellations since kicking off in North America in August last year.

In October, Jackson axed a series of dates, reportedly to rest her vocal chords. Then, on December 24, the singer postponed another North American leg, due to start in January, until summer.

The tour was then set to resume in Dubai, and stay on the road until August.

If the UAE gig goes ahead as planned, it will be Jackson’s first show since November 22, in Japan.

Released in October, Unbreakable was Jackson's first studio album in seven years — and seventh LP to top the US Billboard album charts.
