<strong>Irrfan Khan to star in film by Meghna Gulzar </strong> Meghna Gulzar, the daughter of the famous Bollywood lyricist Gulzar and the actress Raakhee, will direct a film starring Irrfan Khan. “Meghna’s film will be written by Vishal Bhardwaj. It will have Irrfan Khan in the lead role. The title is not yet confirmed,” sources told the Press Trust of India. Meghna made her directorial debut with Filhaal in 2002, starring the former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen and the Bollywood actress Tabu. Her second movie, Just Married, was released in 2007. She also directed a short, titled Pooranmasi, for Sanjay Gupta’s film Dus Kahaniyaan that same year. <strong>Remo D’Souza to direct Karan Johar film</strong> The choreographer and filmmaker Remo D’Souza’s next directorial venture will be co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and if all goes to plan, John Abraham will headline the cast of the yet-untitled film. D’Souza, who started his career as a dancer and went on to become a choreographer before trying his hand at direction with ABCD (Any Body Can Dance) and F.A.L.T.U, confirmed the development. Asked if it is going to be all song and dance like in his previous films, the director said: “Of course not, I can also do an action film. In fact, this film will be loaded with action.” Though Abraham was not available for comment, a source said that Abraham is in talks with Johar and D’Souza, but has not yet signed a contract. – <strong>Kannada director D Rajendra Babu dies at 62</strong> The Kannada filmmaker and screenplay writer D Rajendra Babu died after suffering a cardiac arrest on Sunday, his family said. He was 62. Babu directed more than 50 films across various genres in his career. Considered one of Karnataka’s most revered directors, he also made a few Telugu films and one Malayalam film. He has one Hindi-language film to his credit – Pyaar Karke Dekho (1987). <strong>Krrish 3 soars at box office</strong> It’s a double celebration for Hrithik Roshan and the Krrish 3 team as the Diwali release stays strong at the box office. The superhero drama collected 23 crore rupees (Dh13.7 million) on the second day of its release. “Krrish 3 is fabulous on day two, despite pre-Diwali festivities at its peak.
