Hugh Jackman declares his role as Wolverine as one of the most important of his career.
Speaking in New York before Friday's premiere of Wolverine, the Australian actor says he never gets weary of the title role despite it being his sixth outing as the X-Men anti-hero.
“There’s four or five roles that end up being the foundation of your entire career,” he said.
“There’s no doubt to me that this (Wolverine) is one of them.”
The 44-year-old said he is every bit as comfortable in an action film as a Broadway musical.
He tributes the adaptability to his early years making a living as an actor in Australia.
“The nature of acting in Australia is you need to be up for everything. If you want to make a living, if you want to pay the rent, you’ve got to be able to do everything,” he said.
“There’s only 10 movies made a year so that’s natural to me.”
