Tom Cruise has been spotted filming the sixth instalment of the popular Mission: Impossible franchise in Paris. The 54-year-old was seen at the Bercy district on Saturday morning, where he was commanding attention as on screen character Ethan Hunt, reports The Mirror online.

Dressed in a white, prison straitjacket, Cruise was forced to scale a rooftop surrounded by men wearing military gear. At one point, a helicopter could be seen flying into view, which Cruise ran towards as if to make a escape. - IANS

Mel B’s make-up artist covered her bruises for years

Singer Mel B’s make-up artist has come forward to support the star, claiming he knew about her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte’s violent behaviour and had been concealing her bruises for years, TMZ.com is reporting.

The artist said he often overheard Belafonte being “aggressive and verbally abusive” to the former Spice Girl backstage, and frequently covered up a whole selection of injuries on her body. The artist has offered to draft a sworn declaration of all the marks he has seen over the years for Mel B’s lawyers to help with divorce proceedings. Mel B and Belafonte are currently in a bitter divorce battle after 10 years of marriage.

The make-up artist said Belafonte had been “controlling” her and often called Mel B and their children “ugly” or “disgusting”, the celebrity website reports. - The National Staff

Indian veteran actor Vinod Khanna hospitalised

Actor-politician Vinod Khanna, has been hospitalised for severe dehydration since a week. Veteran actress Asha Parekh and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar have wished a speedy recovery to ailing actor.

Parekh, who has worked with Khanna in films like Aan Milo Sajna, Mera Gaon Mera Desh and Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki in the 1970s, told IANS it was unfortunate he was not well and was praying for his recovery.

Mangeshkar tweeted on Saturday: “My prayers and good wishes are with Shri Vinod Khanna for a speedy recovery. One of the finest artistes of our industry.”

Khanna, an MP of the Bharatiya Janata Party from Gurdaspur district of Punjab, was admitted to Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Girgaon last month.

According to a hospital spokesperson, he is stable and improving. The 70-year-old actor has featured in films like Mere Apne, Insaaf and Amar, Akbar, Anthony. - IANS

Rajnikanth cancels meeting with fans in India

Superstar Rajinikanth called off his meeting with fans saying he finds it difficult to click pictures and interact with every fan. The Kabali actor was supposed to meet his fans between April 12 and 16.

“It’s time consuming and difficult to take pictures with each fan. In future, we plan to have meetings in every district such that fans can take individual pictures without much hassle,” Rajinikanth, whose fan following runs in the hundreds of thousands, said in a statement.

Just last month, the actor clarified that his meeting with fans has no political agenda.

“I’m meeting them (fans) because it has been a long time. There won’t be any political announcements,” he had said.

On the career front, Rajinikanth is busy wrapping up the shooting of Tamil science-fiction action drama ace2.o, a sequel to his own 2010 blockbuster Enthiran.​ - IANS
