New documentary takes a look at Jackie O
A new documentary examines the role Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis played in shaping former US president John F. Kennedy's public persona. JFK: Fact and Fable explores the steps Jackie O took to orchestrate her husband's legacy after he was assassinated. The stylish first lady was behind the sleek modern look of Air Force One. She also redecorated the Oval Office, giving it an elegant yet homey new feel, and was responsible for creating the White House's Rose Garden. She also played a role in moulding JFK's legacy after he was killed in 1963. She insisted that his funeral replicate America's farewell to Abraham Lincoln – a move that seemed designed to forever link the two slain presidents in the nation's conscience.
