According to the press release, Xpress Band, the new house act at the Hilton Abu Dhabi's Jazz Bar, are "world famous."
We checked out this claim, and couldn't even locate a Wikipedia entry for the Canadian and American six-piece.
Also, with all due respect, we think if they really were truly global superstars, we doubt they would have eschewed international stardom for residence at a small bar in the UAE.
That said, on a good night Jazz Bar is one of the capital's liveliest night spots, in a kind of old-school expat, unpretentious way. And as the press release also promises that Xpress Band's repertoire features R&B, soul and early 1990s classics, it could well be worth checking them out.
