Green Day to resume touring in 2013

Green Day announced on Monday they're going back on the road. The band cancelled the rest of their 2012 shows and postponed the start of a 2013 tour after their vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong's substance abuse problems became public in September. Armstrong then headed to treatment. "I just want to thank you all for the love and support you've shown for the past few months," Armstrong said in a statement. "I'm getting better every day. So now, without further ado, the show must go on." The tour is scheduled to begin on March 28 in Chicago. "We want to thank everyone for hanging in with us for the last few months," the band said. "We are very excited to hit the road and see all of you again, though we regret having to cancel more shows." * AP

The industry will say, 'these actors were so brave to attempt singing this score live' but why not cast actors who could actually sound good?" - The National staff
