George Clooney and his wife Amal Alamuddin are not becoming parents any time soon, says the couple’s spokesperson, Stan Rosenfield. The couple, who got married in September this year, sparked speculation after Alamuddin stepped out recently in West Hollywood wearing a loose-fitted jacket and holding a large velvet clutch bag close to her body. The appearance prompted questions whether she was trying to conceal a baby bump. “Amal Clooney is not pregnant,” said Rosenfield. – IANS

Images have emerged of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan being stopped from entering his Mumbai home by the security guards stationed outside – but a closer look at the pictures reveals that the actor was filming for Fan, his forthcoming drama. Joan Rivers leaves money for charities

Joan Rivers left her daughter, Melissa, in charge of her fortune, and left money for some of her favourite charities, including Guide Dogs for the Blind, Jewish Guild Healthcare and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. According to the 2014 will, which was filed in New York State Surrogate’s Court, the late actress made Melissa Rivers her will’s executor with “the broadest and most absolute permissible direction” over a fortune that has been estimated as high as US$150 million (Dh550 million). Other charities she singled out were the New York-based food pantry God’s Love We Deliver, the Simon Wiesenthal Center and the Jewish Home and Hospital Foundation in Manhattan. Joan Rivers died on September 4 at the age of 81 of brain damage due to lack of oxygen. She had stopped breathing during an endoscopy days earlier. Bequests were made to her assistants, Sabrina Lott and Jocelyn Pickett, her publicist Scott Currie, and Rivers’ niece and nephew, Caroline Waxler and Andrew Waxler. – AP

Man jailed for taking part from Paul Walker car

A man who stole a part of the Porsche that Fast and the Furious actor Paul Walker died in has been sentenced to six months in jail. The Los Angeles County district attorney's office says 26-year-old Anthony Janow was sentenced on Tuesday in Southern California. Walker and driver Roger Rodas died in November 2013 when their speeding Porsche Carrera GT hit a tree and a light pole in the Los Angeles suburb of Santa Clarita. Prosecutors say Janow and a friend stole a roof panel when a tow truck carrying the wreckage stopped at a red light. Janow and 19-year-old Jameson Witty each pleaded no contest to grand theft, destroying evidence and obstructing a peace officer. Witty was sentenced earlier this year to six months in jail. – AP

Passage on assault to be clarified in Dunham book

A section from Lena Dunham's Not That Kind of Girl that recounts an alleged assault while she was in college is being changed to make clear that the assailant's name is a pseudonym.

Random House announced that the digital edition and future print editions of Dunham's best-selling memoir will include the clarification. The book already included a disclaimer saying that some names and details had been changed, but didn't say precisely that "Barry" wasn't the real name of Denham's alleged assailant. A breitbart.com article had challenged Dunham's story, saying Dunham had an Oberlin classmate named "Barry" but neither he nor anyone else matched the description in the book. In a Tuesday statement to Buzzfeed, Dunham apologised for any discomfort the use of the pseudonym might have caused a former classmate. – AP
