  • Falguni and Shane Peacock (9:30pm on Friday): Fittingly the closing show of IFW goes to the talented design duo that is husband and wife team Falguni and Shane Peacock. The pair have dressed everyone from Lady Gaga and Rihanna to Olivia Munn, making waves with their sculptural gowns, luxurious fabrics, intricate embroidery and use of romantic fabrics. She launched her label in 1990 after mastering embroidery and presenting one of her first shows in the French capital. As well as designing, Beri is something of a wordsmith, having authored 101 Ways to Look Good and Firefly — A Fairytale. Among Berri’s Indian and international clients she counts Shobha De, Andie MacDowell and Jerry Hall. Prabas Roy / Hindustan Times

Five designers to catch at India Fashion Week in Dubai

Commonly held biannually in Delhi, the inaugural India Fashion Week (IFW) in Dubai aims to bring about 20 of India’s new and established designers together under one roof today and tomorrow at Dubai’s Emirates Towers. Celebrities confirmed to attend, and walk the catwalk, include the Hindi actress Bipasha Basu and her contemporary, Soha Ali Khan. While the event is strictly invite-only, the public are welcome to visit an exhibition space dedicated to the brands, in the foyer of Emirates Towers, over the weekend. Here are the key dates and designers.
