Abu Dhabi Film Festival and twofour54 Creative Lab are set to host their Cinema under the Stars programme as part of the Spring Festival this weekend. The programme will show films on three consecutive evenings beginning Thursday, 1 May, at the outdoor promenade area between the AlMaz by Momo and Emporio Armani Caffè. All screenings are complimentary.
On Thursday, When I Saw You, a Palestinian family drama that won the Best Arab Film award at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, will begin at 7:30pm. The Red Shoes, a British film made in 1948 about a ballet dancer, will start follow.
On Friday, Ostora, a short animation that combines the history of the Union of the Emirates, along with tales from Ancient Greek mythology, will begin at 7:30pm followed by Daddy ABC, another short animation about a couple and their newborn. The feature-length romantic adventure, The Princess Bride, will begin at 7:45pm followed by Amreeka, about a divorced Palestinian woman with a teenage son, at 9:30pm.
On Saturday, West Side Story, the famous musical about feuding gangs, begins at 7:30pm and is followed by Sun Dress, an Emirati film about a deaf and mute woman.
