Dubai's new, slick fashion outlet F Cafe is opening with star power. The Egyptian actor Ahmed Al Saqa will lead a number of celebrities, local socialites and fashionistas in attending the official opening of the venue in Dubai's Emaar Boulevard on December 6. Inspired by high-end fashion, F Cafe will showcase leading international brands and host fashion shows and beauty-related events. The concept has been designed by Fashion TV, the popular 24-hour channel dedicated to fashion and beauty. – The National staff
Christian Slater marries girlfriend in Florida
Christian Slater has married his girlfriend in an impromptu ceremony. Slater's spokeswoman says the 44-year-old actor wed his girlfriend of three years, Brittany Lopez, on Monday at the courthouse in Coral Gables, Florida. The nuptials were first reported by People magazine. The Heathers and True Romance star was previously married to Ryan Haddon. They have two children together. Slater will star in the forthcoming ABC series Mind Games, as well as in Lars von Trier's film Nymphomaniac. – AP
Mumbai court clears release of Sholay in 3-D
The High Court of Bombay on Tuesday rejected an appeal filed by the Bollywood film director Ramesh Sippy challenging a ruling allowing the release of the 1975 film Sholay in 3-D. The court has permitted Pen India to release the 3-D version of the blockbuster starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Hema Malini and the late Amjad Khan. – The National staff
