Dubai company to team up with The Avengers at Age of Ultron premier



A Dubai-based company will be in the spotlight at the red-carpet premier of Avengers: Age of Ultron in Los Angeles on April 13, 2015.

Al Ahli Holding Group will unveil its Hulkbuster and Iron Man collectable figures, produced by its Comicave subsidiary in Singapore, at the star-studded gala event.

AAHG – which in 2014 opened ComiCave, said to be the world's largest comic books and collectables store, at the Dubai Outlet Mall – says it is the first international company to sign a deal with comics publisher Marvel to showcase a high-end collectable at premier of one of the company's superhero films.

The Hulkbuster – a specialised form of Iron Man's armour designed to allow Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr in the Iron Man and Avengers films) to battle The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) – appears in Age of Ultron.

The film is the eagerly anticipated the sequel to 2012's The Avengers, and the latest film in the growing, interconnected Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Other Comicave Iron Man collectables will also be unveiled at the film’s premiere.

"The launch of Hulkbuster and other exclusive Iron Man collectables by one of our subsidiaries, Comicave Studios could not have asked for a better launch pad than the Avengers: Age of Ultron red-carpet gala premiere in Los Angeles, making it undoubtedly the biggest Hollywood blockbuster event of 2015," said Mohammed Khammas, AAHG's chief executive.

"Our strategic long-term alliance with Marvel over the years has evolved across different business segments, and the recent agreement to collaborate with Marvel for the global premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron has further enhanced our relationship with them."

All the stars of Age of Ultron are expected to attend the premier, including Downey Jr, Ruffalo, Chris Evans (who plays Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Samuel L Jackson (Nick Fury), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye).

The UAE release of Avengers: Age of Ultron is expected on April 30. It is due to be released in in the US on May1.
