The UAE may be getting its first taste of Ben Affleck's acclaimed Iranian hostage drama Argo and the Bradley Cooper/Robert De Niro-starring Silver Linings Playbook on November 22, but anyone stopping by the Doha Tribeca Film Festival later this month has the chance to get an early peek. Argo, directed by and starring Affleck and based on the rescue of US diplomats in Iran during the 1979 hostage crisis, is set to get its regional premier at a special gala screening in Doha on November 21 (ok, so that's just a day earlier). Silver Linings Playbook, which may sound like yet another tablet computer but is actually a comedy about an ex-con trying to get his life back on track, will screen on November 19. Oh, and Silver Linings Playbook's Bob De Niro will be stopping by the festival to give a discussion about his career. Given that he helped start the Tribeca festival back in New York, we guess he's allowed to stop by whenever he likes. He probably gets free tickets to the films too... See you there?
