Die-hard Dubai music fan impresses Michael Bublé

It’s been a great week for Glenn Mitchell.

The Dubai resident fan announced on Instagram – under the handle @anonymousglenn – that his goal for the weekend would be to snap selfies with Michael Bublé and Drake. Both the Canadian musicians are in town this weekend for separate shows at the Dubai International Stadium.

Bublé welcomed Mitchell’s online challenge and, through Instagram, challenged him on Thursday to find the hotel he is staying in.

Accepting the online offer, Mitchell spent the day looking for the right hotel, but his efforts proved futile.

What he did manage to do was gain free entry into the concert venue by convincing a security guard he was one of Bublé's dancers.

So impressed was Bublé by this feat that he gave Mitchell front-row tickets to his opening show on Thursday, March 12, and after the opening number Fever went up to the barrier and rewarded the beaming Mitchell with a hard-earned selfie.

Spurred on by his accomplishment, Mitchell spend the following day looking for Drake.

He came mighty close, too; after somehow convincing an official to enter a private function featuring the rapper, a security guard wised up to Mitchell’s shenanigans and escorted him out of the venue.

According to Mitchell, the security guard didn’t do it too nicely either.

"That guy in the black top was the one who took me out," he said on his Instagram. "Funnily enough I'd made friends with him earlier in the day, obviously not very well. His names J. #FindDrakeDay #PrivateSecurityDoneTheirJob #MyArmStillHurts"

However, Mitchell didn't leave without landing a few instagram snaps of Drake chatting with his entourage.

“I know it’s not a selfie but I found him,” he posted. “Topping the @michaelBublé concert was always going to be a struggle. #IWinOnATechnicality #FindDrakeDay”
