Billy Ocean will headline the musical festivities at this year’s Taste of Dubai.
The vintage soul star will perform on the event’s opening night, at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on March 9.
Ocean’s appearance will help launch the festivities marking the tenth anniversary of the popular food festival, which typically attracts thousands of foodies to sample snack-sized tasters from dozens of pop-up stalls.
Advance gig tickets, for this day only, cost Dh125 and include two drinks. Standard daily tickets for Friday and Saturday (March 10-11) cost Dh49.50.
Ocean is no stranger to the UAE, last spotted co-headlining a retro double header at Dubai Tennis Stadium in March 2016, alongside UB40 – who performed a secret "surprise" set at Taste in 2015.
Billed as the "biggest black recording star Britain has ever produced", and with reported record sales of more than 30 million, Ocean's biggest hits include Caribbean Queen, When the Going Gets Tough and Suddenly.
