The director Bryan Singer confirmed on Twitter that three more actors are returning for X-Men: Days of Future Past, the next movie from the franchise: Anna Paquin (who plays Rogue), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) and Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde). They join the previously announced returnees Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence. The film is scheduled to be released in July next year. – IANS

Kutcher hospitalised shooting Steve Jobs film

Ashton Kutcher revealed he was hospitalised while filming the Steve Jobs biopic jOBS, which premiered at the recently concluded Sundance Film Festival. The actor adopted the entrepreneur's "fruitarian diet", which he said "can lead to some serious issues". "I ended up in the hospital two days before we started shooting the movie," he said. "I was like doubled over in pain, and my pancreas levels were completely out of whack, which was completely terrifying, considering everything." Jobs died of complications from pancreatic cancer. Still, Kutcher was up to the challenge of playing Jobs, in part because of his admiration for the man. "I don't know if there's ever been an entrepreneur who's had more compassion and care for his consumer than Steve Jobs," he said. – AP

Amour top contender for French award

The Oscar-nominated Amour, which scooped up a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film earlier this month, is one of the top contenders for France's top movie awards, the Cesars. The Franco-Austrian picture, also a winner of the Palme d'Or award at Cannes, has been nominated in 10 categories, including Best Movie. The winners will be presented in Paris on February 22. Amour's star Emmanuelle Riva is a contender for Best Actress, competing against nominees including Marion Cotillard for Rust and Bone. The French acting legend Jean-Louis Trintignant is competing in the Best Actor category. The Austrian director Michael Haneke, nominated for Best Director, is up against contenders including Leos Carax, who directed Holy Motors. – AFP

Dutch dance duo Bingo Players top UK charts

The Dutch dance duo Bingo Players secured their first British No 1 single on Sunday with the club hit Get Up (Rattle), a collaboration with the hip-hop group Far East Movement. They edged last week's No 1, Scream & Shout by will.i.am and Britney Spears, into second place, said the Official Charts Company. Climbing one position to third was Taylor Swift with I Knew You Were Trouble. Rihanna and Mikky Ekko placed fourth with Stay. – Reuters

Yoko Ono leads online campaign for women

An artist, a feminist and a model are joining others in a worldwide attempt to empower women in the marketplace through ethically themed fashion. The campaign, called ImagiNation 365, is led by Maiden Nation, an online social platform. Yoko Ono, Gloria Steinem and Lauren Bush contributed by designing pieces of jewellery that express their vision. Other designers live in countries including India, Afghanistan, Poland, Argentina and South Africa. The proceeds from the sales go to causes chosen by the designers, such as job training in Haiti. – AP
