Amy Jackson dazzles on the Lakmé catwalk



The British beauty queen and Bollywood actress Amy Jackson modelled for the designer Pernia Qureshi on Saturday at Lakmé Fashion Week. Jackson, who made her Bollywood debut in Ekk Deewana Tha in February, donned a black sari from Qureshi's collection, dubbed An Evening in Paris. "I'm happy I got to wear an Indian sari," she said. "I don't want to take it off." Jackson is gearing up for the September release of the Tamil thriller Thaandavam. * IANS

Vinod Khanna and Randhir Kapoor to reunite

The veteran actors Vinod Khanna and Randhir Kapoor are reuniting on the big screen, close to four decades since they last appeared together. They'll be starring in director Prabhu Deva's forthcoming Hindi remake of his 2005 Telugu hit Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana. The pair were last seen in Prakash Mehra's 1974 film Haath Ki Safai. Deva said: "I wanted a strong supporting cast, so Randhir and Vinod were my natural choices for two very important roles in the film." * IANS

Shah Rukh Khan to cameo in Krrish 3

Hrithik Roshan made a brief but memorable cameo in Shah Rukh Khan's 2011 thriller Don 2. Now Khan is set to reciprocate the gesture by playing a small part in his friend's forthcoming sci-fi film Krrish 3, the third instalment in the trilogy starring Roshan and Priyanka Chopra. The two have been meeting up to discuss the role, and The Times of India reported that Khan will make an appearance in the film's climactic action sequence. * IANS

Kishore Kumar lives on in Bollywood's heart

Bollywood turned to Twitter to commemorate the 83rd anniversary of the birth of the actor and singer Kishore Kumar, who died in 1987. Anupam Kher (pictured) posted: "He gave us every colour and emotion of life through his songs. He dictated our daily moods." Farah Khan wrote: "For 35 years I lived three buildings away from his house. He still lives in my heart. In my films." Madhur Bhandarkar said: "Your songs make the journey of our life beautiful." * IANS

Abhishek Bachchan heads to the Olympics

The actor Abhishek Bachchan headed to London yesterday to attend the Olympics as a brand ambassador for Omega watches, his father Amitabh confirmed. "One comes, another leaves. Abhishek travels out to the Olympics. He goes to attend some events! Lucky," said the senior Bachchan, who himself carried the torch at the Olympic Torch Relay in London last month, organised ahead of the opening ceremony. * IANS
