Alliance Francaise announces September cultural programme

Dubai’s Alliance Francaise has announced a programme of events to keep the culture vultures entertained during September.

The programme kicks off on Monday, September 8 at 6pm with a screening of L'Enfant d'en Haut. This gritty 2012 Franco-Swiss drama won the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival and was shortlisted for Best Foreign Language Film at last year's 85th Academy Awards. It also features an unlikely appearance from the decidedly unFranco-Swiss Gillian Anderson, star of TV's The X-Files. The screening will have English subtitles.

Further events during the course of the month include an exhibition by the Dubai-based French artist CATY Cordahi, and a musical revue and a celebration of The European Day of Languages on Saturday, September 27 in association with the Goethe Institut, the British Council and the Czech Embassy.
