A favourite destination for celebrities wanting to enjoy some winter sun, the UAE has welcomed plenty of stars this month

Former Liverpool star and Welsh international, Ian Rush, was in the UAE for the 2020 Dubai Globe Soccer Awards, and found time to visit the Madinat. Instagram

Barcelona's Gerard Pique received the Player Career Award at the 2020 Dubai Globe Soccer Awards. The football star and husband of pop star, Shakira, took to Instagram to write: "Really honored to receive the Player Career Award! Thank you so much @globesoccer and congrats to all winners! Instagram

Maura Higgins: The British model and former ‘Love Island’ star took a trip out to the desert for an adventure with some camels during her December holiday in the Emirates. Instagram

Amir Khan: The British boxer and former unified light-welterweight world champion revealed: ‘Just bought my family a holiday home in Dubai’. The 34-year-old shared snaps of the imposing entrance and incredible views from his villa in Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City. Instagram

Tiger Shroff: The Indian actor was in Dubai for a short break, and popped along to popular restaurant Nusr-Et Dubai, writing on Instagram: ‘So inspiring watching your craft live, thanks for the meal.’ Instagram

Steve Harvey: The US TV host jetted into Dubai for a vacation and, like plenty of other stars, enjoyed the experience of being served by Salt Bae at Nusr-Et Dubai. Instagram

Amber Turner: The British reality TV personality and ‘Towie’ star shared a snap of herself on The Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, with the caption: ‘Evening walks down the boardwalk’. Instagram

Andrea Bocelli: The 62-year-old Italian tenor was in Dubai for a concert at Dubai Opera on December 8, and stopped by Salt Bae’s Nusr-Et Dubai restaurant in Jumeirah Beach Dubai Restaurant Village Four Seasons Resort, where he treated the chef to a private concert in the kitchen. Instagram

Borna Coric: The 24-year-old Croatian tennis star jetted into the UAE for a holiday in Dubai, calling our sandy shores his ‘home away from home'. Instagram

Sophie Kasaei: The former ‘Geordie Shore’ star jetted into Dubai for a short holiday, revealing on Instagram: ‘That will be all from the Dubai pics. Home time now.’ Instagram

Molly Mae Hague: The ‘Love Island’ star and Instagram influencer was sure to have her photo taken by Dubai landmark, the Burj Al Arab, while catching some winter sun. Instagram

Rochelle Humes: The former Saturdays pop star and her JLS star husband, Marvin, were at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray on The Palm Jumeirah. She simply captioned this snap: ‘Mum and dad’. Instagram

Virgil van Dijk: The Netherlands national team captain and Liverpool player was in Dubai for a winter holiday, and made sure to swing by Nusr-Et Dubai to hang out with Salt Bae. Instagram

Matt Fitzpatrick: The English golfer celebrated his win at the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Sharing a photo of himself with his trophy, he wrote: ‘Wow! What a way to end the season! Thanks everyone for your kind messages.’ Instagram

Lewis Hamilton: The Formula 1 ace was in the capital for the 2020 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit, where he came in third place. 'I can’t express how grateful I am to be back. Back with my team and back doing what I love,' he wrote. Instagram

Lee Westwood: The 47-year-old British golfer, who triumphed at the Race to Dubai at Jumeirah Golf Estates, shared this fun snap of himself with his caddy and partner, Helen Storey, writing: ‘Skipping into Sunday.’ Instagram

Heather Watson: The Guernsey-born tennis player and former British number one revealed that she had to ‘pop a squat to fit the Burj Khalifa in’ when it came to posing by the world’s tallest building. Instagram

Gabby Allen: The British professional dancer and personal trainer headed to the Burj Khalifa during her recent holiday in the Emirates. Instagram

Ferne McCann: The ‘I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!’ contestant headed out into the Dubai desert for a photoshoot with her daughter, Sunday. She captioned her photos: ‘My favourite place in the world is anywhere next to you my Sunday darling.’ Instagram

Chloe Lewis: The British ‘Towie’ star wasn’t just holidaying in Dubai, she’s moved to the emirate. Sharing a snap of herself at Koko Bay, she wrote on Instagram: ‘All of the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are sandy.’ Instagram

Amy Willerton: The British model and TV presenter hit up JBR in Dubai for a workout along the beach. She also shared her advice for making some me-time, revealing: ‘I work out but only because I sat down with Dan and said, ‘Look babe I need an hour to sweat’ it makes me a much nicer person for the rest of the day.’ Instagram

Mohamed Hadid, the Palestinian-Jordanian father of models Gigi and Bella Hadid, has just touched down in Dubai. The real estate developer is in town with his friend, Hassan Morshedy.

The pair shared photos from their seats on an Emirates flight, before making their way to DIFC's L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, which looks like it is now serving Hadid's Hadid Caviar.

Earlier this month, Lewis Hamilton was here for the 2020 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix; Lee Westwood was here to triumph at the Race to Dubai golf tournament; Andrea Bocelli jetted in for a private concert; and former Saturdays pop star Rochelle Humes was here for some family time with her husband and their three children.

No matter the reason for the celebrities visiting the UAE’s sandy shores, they all shared one thing in common: they had a blast.

Whether visiting the Burj Khalifa, enjoying a desert experience or getting to meet the one and only Salt Bae at his Nusr-Et Dubai restaurant, a number of stars have shared the things they've been up to in the Emirates on social media this month.
